HKTB calls India as its largest emerging source travel market

Hong Kong Tourism Board, Regional Director - Europe and New Markets, Peter Hoslin, has stated that India is the largest emerging tourist market for Hong Kong.

Showing new figures, he told that last year, 516084 Indian travelers (compared to 434648 in 2013) visited the lovely destination. The nation recorded a total of 60838836 international visitors arrivals.

Hoslin told that the numbers have gone up beyond their expectations last year. Even this year, they are also very optimistic of this important source market and we expect to achieve a double-figure development in the number of young as well as family travelers from India. By 2015 August, trade partners projects to brought in travel missions in important cities like New Delhi and Mumbai, as well as few other places that would be finalized later.

By the 2nd quarter of 2015, Hong Kong Tourism Board targets to introduce consumer campaigns via promotional initiatives and digital marketing. He added that they would soon promote videos of Hong Kong leaders on several segments of travel. Hong Kong Tourism Board will also deal with the training of their tour operators as wll as travel agents in Indian market.

Hoslin has asked B2B travel trade to register on PartnerNet (started last year) that provides a combination of functional information and product and opt for Hong Kong Specialist online training program that entails 3 levels of training faculty.
