Brand USA looking for more than 1 million Indian visitors to the United States in 2015

Targeting to attract more than one million travelers from India, the United States is undertaking different promotional openings to place itself as a premier travel place. Brand USA, founded by Travel Promotion Act 2010 as a private-public partnership that is responsible for promoting United States, plans to develop social, online and digital programs to be followed by consumer ads on electronic media in India.
Speaking to a leading Indian news agency, Jay Gray, the Brand USA Global Partnership Development Vice President, told that they are expecting 1 million and seventy thousand Indian visitors in USA in 2015. They are taking several initiatives for this to happen.
During the present year Brand USA anticipates approximately 960000 Indian travelers. In the year 2013, around 860000 Indian citizens visited the United States. As per Brand USA, in the year 2013 India was ranked eleventh among the top twenty tourist generating countries in the United States, an increase of 18.6 over the earlier year. Indian visitors also ranked tenth globally in terms of money spent in the United States.
In 2013, the average duration of Indian travelers was twenty nights, spending approximately US$ 4500 each person that amounted to a total of US$ 5.6 billion in the year 2013. When asked about the reasons for which Indians travel United States, he said: "It is leisure, business and meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions.” They are also promoting soft adventures, outdoors to the young Indians as India has a huge population which is under 35 years.
